Welcome to Journaling Friday!!! This is a new exciting adventure for both the editing staff and the grownish writer team. We are excited to bring this new adventure into the world of writing for all you amazing writers and readers. So we invite you to grab your favourite journal or buy a new journal, perhaps one from our favourites list on Indigo. So grab that cup of coffee, and let's begin this journey through journaling.



This week's journaling Friday, we dive deeper into the art of journaling with 26 questions for you to write about in your new or old journal. Remember, you don't have to do these questions; these are just suggestions to get you thinking about what to write down or draw about.

so if you want to stop by over there and check out their amazing journaling tips, we would highly suggest that you do.


  1. What personality traits in others do you consider pet peeves?

  2. When was a time in your life you opened up to someone and felt rejected?

  3. What was a time I felt unexpectedly triggered by another action?

  4. What was I like as a child?

  5. What trait in others do you wish you had?

  6. What are your parent’s values? How do your own values differ?

  7. What aspects of yourself do you wish to improve?

  8. What negative emotions do you avoid? Why?

  9. What would happen if you let yourself feel these negative emotions?

  10. Have you ever felt embarrassed about who you are? What made you feel that way?

  11. What traits do your parents have that you hope you don’t?

  12. What traits do you have that are similar to your parents?

  13. What about yourself, don’t you like? Why not?

  14. When is the last time you forgave yourself?

  15. What’s the worst way someone could describe you (what hurts the most)

  16. Write a letter to your past self.

  17. When’s the last time you were upset at someone close to you’s actions? Why did you get upset? Was your reaction warranted?

  18. What image of yourself are you trying to project to others?

  19. How do you extend compassion to and forgive others? What would it look like to extend the same compassion to yourself?

  20. How could you be more patient with yourself?

  21. What’s one thing you’re afraid of doing? Why?

  22. When is a time you felt rejected? What other feelings arose?

  23. What is a positive outcome of negative emotions you’ve experienced?

  24. After you’ve identified your shadow traits, choose a trait, and write a letter to yourself accepting that trait.

  25. Write a self-acceptance affirmation.

  26. Think of a positive trait you have. What is the opposite of that trait? How might you be repressing it in your life?
