Welcome to our first showcase Wednesday; this new article will be released every Wednesday where we showcase some of the fantastic things we come across or simply some fantastic places to hang out, study, work, or visit. This week we share with you our favourite places in Halifax where we work and Study from. The office moves with us, as part of making work more accessible. So here is our list of the top three places in Halifax to work and study from:

Top Five Places to Work and Study In Halifax:

  1. Central Library: one of the most extensive libraries in the city and probably the one with the best view. The central library is located on Spring Garden Road, close to restaurants and stores so that you can buy your lunch on the way in. In addition, this library has community rooms for business meetings, a media studio, a place for your kids to hang out or younger siblings, and most importantly, it has free wifi. The Central library is an office favourite, and we recommend checking it out.

2. The GlitterBean Cafe: Nestle along the spring garden road is another favourite study and workspace. Here is a little more about the cafe from their website: Glitter Bean Cafe rose as an alternative to working in an unfair work environment. Workers who lost their jobs banded together and formed a worker-owned co-op that will breathe life back into our much loved, cozy cafe. We remain unionized with SEIU 2, a victory won by cafe workers in 2013. We are working to create a community space that will provide a safer space for queer, two-spirit, and trans people in K'jipuktuk (Halifax). Highly suggest checking this place out if you want a cute, quiet coffee shop to study or work in, along with enjoying some great beverages and food.

3. Uncommon Grounds is this cozy little cafe in the heart of downtown Halifax. A little more about the space from their website: At Uncommon Grounds, we work with our local roastmaster right here in Nova Scotia to deliver freshly roasted beans in our signature Fog Burner Blend, or our diverse selection of medium roast single-origin beans as well.

Our cafes are all located in Downtown Halifax and offer a great way to escape from your busy life to grab some caffeine. The Uncommon Group is proudly committed to our Community. Through various means, we support dozens of community events & organizations. We are proud founding members of I Love Local HFX. This cozy place is perfect for studying with friends hunched over your computer screens enjoying local coffee.
