This week's writing prompts focus on getting the fantastic story plot you have from your head onto your word doc or piece of paper. Here are five excellent writing prompts to help get you out of that terrible writer's block.

You know the story. You know the characters. Now it's time to describe what happens in it typically- tell your character's daily life. Describe their routine and what would happen if that routine was thrown out the window. Write down everything that happens because of that. Remember that plots are born from changes in someone's daily routine.
Are different character's goals in conflict with each other? Conflict is what propels the story forward. Write down what goals conflict and see which ones would help improve the plot of your story.
Turn off your computer, MacBook or Ipad and write down on a sheet of paper whatever comes to your mind for the next 20 minutes; when you are done, look at what you have written down and see if any of it can be used in your story.
Writer the ending of your novel; however, write it as if the main character dies. Please don't give them a cheap dollar store death either. Instead, kill them off when everyone thinks they have won or that the story's conflict is over. Or perhaps make it happen in the middle of the ending. Leave the antagonist without a solid enemy, wondering if they have finally gone too far. Remember, if your story somehow stops after the death of this single character, your story is weak and needs work.
Let your character Fuck up. Let them mess up big time on a massive scale, to the point where their quest cannot be salvaged. Let them suffer from this mistake, watch how this changes the plot of your novel. Let others hate them for what they have done. Let this mistake adjust your story, work with it to create something new.
