Instead of our regular weekly writing prompts this week, we present you with Note Taking Tips for those of us in Highschool, University or College. . Let us here at the Grownish Writer teach you some valuable Note Taking tips to help you through those long classes and lectures. Most students don't even know where to begin when it comes to note-taking; most of us have experienced the dread of trying to take notes while our teacher or professor continues to ramble. Let us help you find your starting point before starting the class, what to do during the course and what to do afterwards. We searched the internet for you and came across a post that helped many here at the office through their time at University.

Before Class/Lecture:

  • Print out lecture/class notes if you can

  • Fill out any example problems that are meant for you to do before the lecture or class

  • Read the section of the textbook or online sources that are to be discussed in class

  • Take Notes on what you read

  • Come prepared with any questions you have from the readings

During Class/Lecture

  • Fix and mark up the notes that you have already taken

  • Highlight anything the professor/ Teacher emphasizes

  • Write important notes in the margins

  • If you can get your questions answered

  • Make Important connections with the information

After Class/Lecture

  • Complete Homework/ practice programs

  • Optional: rewrite your notes into neat and colourful summaries
